About this app

Brain Boost Kids is published by Owly Publications. It provides recreational activities for children and parents to use together. This policy covers the Android app, package com.owlypublications.brainboostkids.

Information stored on your device

The app stores two child profiles. Information includes the names or nicknames you enter, completed activities, selected reflections, reward descriptions, repeat dates and milestones. It also stores whether the introduction has been viewed. This information is used to display profiles, remember progress and personalise rewards. You can keep the default profile names or use nicknames; a child's real name is not required.

Collection and sharing

The app does not send these profiles or progress records to Owly Publications or another server. It has no accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking or cloud synchronisation. It does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts or location. Owly Publications does not sell or share the information stored by the app.

Google Play and Android may handle information under their own policies when you download, update or use your device. This app policy does not describe those separate services.

Storage and security

Information is held in the app's private local storage using AsyncStorage and Android's app isolation. AsyncStorage does not provide additional application-level encryption. Protect your device with a screen lock and keep its software updated. The app is configured to disable Android Auto Backup. Owly Publications cannot access or recover your local records.

Retention and deletion

Records remain on the device until you change them, clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Local backup and recovery copies may also be retained by the app to protect against damaged saves. These copies can contain older profile information.

The Parents section lets you rename a profile and reset its programme. Resetting removes that profile's current completed activities, reflections, repeat history and milestones; it keeps its name and reward descriptions and may leave older recovery copies. To remove all profiles, names, rewards, progress and recovery copies, clear the app's storage in Android Settings or uninstall the app. Clearing storage removes both profiles and all app settings. Device manufacturers may label this option Clear storage or Clear data. Removing the data is irreversible; there is no cloud restore.

Children and parents

The app is intended for children to use with a parent or caregiver. Profile information remains on the device. There is no chat, public profile, advertising or account registration. Parents should manage profile information and avoid entering unnecessary personal or sensitive details in names and rewards.

Do not include children's names or progress records unless needed for your request. The app itself does not automatically attach or send records. We use correspondence to respond to your inquiry. Contact us at the same address with questions about access to or deletion of your correspondence. Your email provider and our email provider also handle email under their own policies.

Policy changes

Owly Publications will update this policy when the app's data practices change. The updated policy will be available in the app and on the public privacy-policy page, with a revised date.
